How to write a long blog post from short idea?

 

Yesterday was an amazing day as I could type 10,000 words or 50 blog posts. Yes, none of them were quality content but I was very happy because I could just simply do it. I always felt that writing even 5,000 words in a single day was an impossible thing to do but after writing 10,000 words I feel that I have overcome my mental barrier and it has changed me in a single day.

 

What I did?

I have been trying for the last few days to transform myself from a platform maker to a solo professional or I started trying for my personal success, personal benefit, etc. I also want to try for my personal interest. What I understand is that it is very easy for me to write 100 words at a time.

It is not a problem anymore and if I have to write 200 words post it is also not a problem but if I want to make a post larger than this then I struggle and I simply cannot do it. But today I want to write a long post and I have taken the decision that I will simply focus on writing 100 words at a time. That means I will write just one or two paragraphs at a time then take a break, again come back and write another 100 words.

 

I want to write longer posts

This way I will make a post at least 500 words long and maybe it will be like 700 to 800 words or sometimes it can be even 1,000 words. I started professional blogging 19 years ago in 2006 and during that time I learned that Google loves your original content. After 19 years it is the same idea.

 

Google likes your original content

Google likes your original content and it doesn't like a copy paste from other sources or even copying from artificial intelligence chatbots like ChatGPT. So I must focus on writing original content and I hope that I can do it. It's not a very difficult matter because when I'm writing 10,000 words without copying anything from any source I already have got the skill and also the habit.

 

Google likes long content

Now that is the main problem. Google likes long content. Google likes content over 1,000 words and I simply cannot write content over 1,000 words. What I can do is that I can now write content of 200 words. That is quite a big challenge for me but I have decided that I will keep on trying and reach to the level that I can easily write an article of 1,000 words in just two or three hours.

I have noticed that some of my blog posts in this blog or in another blog recently have been indexed by Google and they are bringing good results when searched. Well, I did not target any popular keyword. I just started writing normally but I am very happy with the results so far.

 

Record breaking Day

Yesterday was a record-breaking day. Yes, I am very happy that yesterday was a record-breaking day for me and I could never imagine that I would be able to type 10,000 words in a single day but I have done it and I am very happy for it. I don't know how I could do it but as I said, I just did it.

 

Will again Try Today

Now, I feel very confident that even if I try today, again, I will be able to do it but I am not interested. Instead, I want to write at a normal pace and maybe write 3,000 or 4,000 words. Now, I am thinking of new ideas and I am also thinking that every day for two hours, I will practice this way and I would not bother about anything else but just write some entries or blog posts.

 

Practice a lot

What I want to do today? Today, I want to practice writing and practice for 10 hours continuously writing and I know that I will be able to write many posts and thousands of words but I also want to spend some time on reading because if you want to write something, then you have to read. Yesterday, I decided that I will start reading about English literature again because this was my field and I want to be a good writer. If I want to be a good writer, then I have to improve the level of my writing.

 

English Literature Matters

The basic is that I have to read a lot from English literature because literature contains the best samples of that language. So, if I want to become better in English writing or writing in English language, then I should try to read its literature. Also, I am not a native speaker, so naturally, I will struggle no matter how many years I have studied English or I have written in English language.

The reality is that I will always struggle. So, I will take this idea seriously of studying about English literature. Every day, I can just read a few pages and try to reflect about it and try to look at the use of sentences or words, etc.

Writing a Long Post

Fortunately, I studied English literature in my bachelor degree in university and that is why I have some idea about analyzing a poem or a drama or a character or a novel setting, etc. In conclusion, I like to state that this is a part of practice and I am just trying to practice writing. This post has been most probably more than 1,000 words and I am very happy that it was much more than 200 words.

As I stated earlier that if I want to write now 200 words, I will not struggle at all. But when I want to write more than 200 words, then I will struggle. So, today what I am going to do is that I am going to try writing 300 words or 400 words long post.

I think I will not struggle if I start writing 300 words long posts and maybe I can try 400 words. This has given me a new idea. I will talk about it in the next post.
